The inspiration behind Tater's adventures

The moment we rescued Tater, his curious nature and knack for investigating everything around him immediately led to his name, "Tater the Investigator." This instantly sparked the idea of his "Tater-tory," and from there, the entire series began to unfold. Writing has always been a passion, stemming from childhood stories and a previous non-fiction project. The true motivation, however, came from my grandson's enthusiastic reaction to the first book. His delight and surprise fueled the rapid publication of Book 2 just a week later! **Update- my grandson decided that Book 3 is actually his favorite! I love it- he keeps me going! :) Check it out!  Book Three just released May 8th!

The joy of writing for young minds

Creating interesting and humorous characters for children is incredibly rewarding. The Tater the Investigator series encourages children to be curious, think for themselves and show kindness while helping others. Engaging young readers can ignite a lifelong love for reading, which, as studies show, positively impacts their academic performance, including better scores in reading, math, and spelling. As someone who has experienced rigorous academic journeys, like pharmacy school, I understand the importance of strong foundational skills. My hope is that "Tater the Investigator" books not only entertain and remind us all the importance of kindness to others, but also encourage children to read more, fostering their intellectual growth.

Beyond the books: fun facts about the author

I love to travel and have been fortunate enough to visit my ancestral homes in Italy, on my father's side, and Ireland, on my mother's side. Although I moved to Minnesota over 30 years ago, I still cherish the Jersey Shore, where my siblings and extended family reside - near the ocean. I try to visit as often as possible. And spending time with my 8-year-old grandson, Carson, is a joy. He's not only incredibly intelligent, but also always ready for an adventure. Tater's Daddy grew up on a farm in MN, and we spend a lot of time there. Carson loves it too, and he even contributed ideas for Book 3, which features my grand-puppies (Carson's "brothers") and is set on the farm. Meet the real dogs on the "Books" page!

"It's good for kids to ask questions and figure things out. As well, kindness, helping others and caring for our pets are also important lessons."
